Brethren:
We have degree work coming up. We will confer the Masters degree on Eric Hendrickson on July 7th at 7:00 PM. The Jobs Daughters have agreed to prepare a meal for us at 6:00 PM. Come out and watch the degree work, as it is always nice to have people on the sidelines to help if needed and give the brethren putting on the degree some support. We will be voting on more petitions in July.
Our PMF picnic will be on July 25th at 5:00 PM. Mark you calendar for this, bring a friend with you and join in the fun and fellowship.
We have five boys, the Sweetheart, her chaperone, and three advisors are going to Conclave in North Platte July 9th - 12th. We are going Thursday night since ritual competition starts at 9am on Friday morning and we have competitors in three categories.
We should have one boy and one advisor when we head to the Shrine Bowl on the 25th. It is a long day with the Parade at 10, then a picnic sponsored by the three Shrine Temples. In the afternoon the kids go to the mall and a movie ahead of the game. After the game is a dance at Sesostris Shrine ending about 11:45PM.
Bethel #53 spent the week of June 16 - 20 in Grand Island at Grand Bethel. Amy Kenyon was Grand Bethel Treasurer and Christina Bladow was a Spirit Ambassador.
The days were long and the nights too short. To add to the excitement, the tornado sirens went off about 4 times on Wednesday night. I have some CUTE pictures of the two girls in the bathtub -- on their laptop and texting.
From the desk of the Secretary
Well the June conflicts are over and I wish to thank Dale Wulff, Paul Schroeder and Chip Avant for covering for me in the evenings.
For those that are interested, the gray file cabinet is empty and it is stored in the DeMolay closet. By the time this is published the top of the cabinets in the hat (file, library) room should be clear of files and records.
I am still trying to be a one stop shop for petitions. I have petitions for Blue Lodge, York Rite, DeMolay and Shrine. I still need them for OES, JOBS and Scottish Rite.
Carl Highman, PM
Secretary
Brethren,
I wanted to remind everyone that I need articles by the 20th of the month, so I can publish the Trestleboard on time. We have been trying to reduce costs and started emailing the Trestleboard out to members that we have email addresses for. I also changed the format and have received compliments and some complaints. Please be patient as I learn the new postal rules governing bulk mailing and am working out the bugs of sending this out by email. We are asking for members to send email addresses if you have one.
Now that the dues and suspensions are out of the way, I can concentrate on the project of getting the complete record of our inactive members consolidated between Right Angle #303 and Papillion #39, it is 2/3rds done and I'm looking forward to having it finished. As I recall, when I started, others were into the "c's" with scatterings through the other letters. I have now finished the "r's" but am finding misfilings and have to backtrack every so often.
When completed it will be a big help to anyone trying to track an individual or a family through the lodge records.
June will be our last meeting before going dark for the summer and we hope all will attempt to make the meeting. It will be a great time to see what Companion AJ will need for the Festival in September, and you will have all summer to learn your part.
Also the Chili and Soup supper will be coming up in October and the preplanning needs to be done at this meeting.
The May meeting did get Companion Ron Mahoney installed as Master of the 2nd Veil and we look forward to work-ing with him throughout this next year, he plans on being able to do his station in the degree.
The boys are riding high after their successful Mexican Dinner. It was a pleasure to see all those who came out to support them.
June is a fairly quiet month leading up to the super active month of July, if we have prospective members, this is the time to bring them in.
July will have both Conclave in North Platte and the Shrine Bowl in Lincoln, both of which the boys hope to go to. Again, the more boys the merrier and more advisors will give the four we have an occasional break.
Carl Highman, Chev/LOH. Advisory Board Chairman
Bethel #53 is winding down on one term and getting ready for another term. The girls have send in their ballots for the new Council -- who will take over in September.
We have served lunch to the Papillion Masons on April 25th. They were having degree work that day. A collec-tion was taken up for the girls. We thank the Masons for their generosity. We love to help where we can.
Amy Kenyon and Shirley DeVasure attended Bethel #18 initiation on April 16th. Amy was Sr. Princess.
We want to congratulate our two Seniors -- Molly Lamczyk and Kelsey Zimmerman.
