I wanted to thank the individuals who have provided their email addresses. If you have an email address and do not receive the Trestleboard electronically please send your email address to either Carl or myself. A reminder articles or announcements you would like published in the Trestleboard are due by the 20th of the preceding month. We are having a Youth Night on September 1st and if you know any kids who would benefit from the Masonic values we follow please contact either youth organization. The youth groups are our future.
The responses are rolling in from the BBQ mailing and they are quite encouraging, checks and cash ranging from $10 to $50 are being received and some very nice notes are being included.
Communications from those members not living in the Papillion area and those locally unable to attend regularly are always welcome, and rest assured, they are shared with the members attending the meetings.

It is time to start again, 2nd Wednesday, September 9th, pot luck dinner at 6:30, meet-ing at 7:30. The RAM part of our 2 day festival is September 26th in Plattsmouth; re-member to sign up with AJ Johnson if you'd like to do a part for the RAM. Stop by the Secretary's office if you'd like a petition, remember you don't have to join the entire York Rite at once; you can join one body at a time. Besides extending your Masonic educa-tion, it has been said that "every Christian Mason should be a York Rite Mason."

Brethren:
We have brought in some new members this year and with deaths, demits and suspen-sions we are not gaining in numbers but just holding our own. There are a lot of good men that each of us know that would make good Masons. Let us all try to bring in those good men as Masons and not only help our lodge grow but also the appending bodies.
July is behind us and August is here! At July's Conclave an award was presented to Master Councilor Anthony Blackwell for being the 1st line signer of three petitions, he already has recognition for five. Advisory Chairman Carl Highman received an award for positive growth of the chapter and getting the paperwork for both the boys and the adult advisors (the more difficult of the two) in on time.
August will start off on a positive note with the initiation of a candidate, still short form, but we look to expand to 8-man initiation by the end of the year.
Bethel #53 had only one meeting in July -- the 6th.
On July 7th, our Assoc. Guardian cooked hamburgers for the members of the Papillion Lodge. Our Guardian bought the beverages, paper goods, chips, pickles, onions and tomatoes. Amy Kenyon, Christina and Bonni Bladow and Ariana Hargan helped Paul and Shirley. The Lodge had a freewill basket for donations for us. We raised money for our Educ. and Promotional Fund. We thank the generosity of the Lodge members.
September is Back to Lodge Night and the membership committee is planning a special evening for the regular business meeting. We are planning on having a Rusty Nail degree, so if you are unsure of the password or other signs come, participate and learn. If you need a ride to any event or meeting please contact one of the officers of the lodge.
Establishing the individual files for all members, past and present, is taking longer than expected. At half way through the alphabet (using Mc as a separate letter), I have an excess of 1,570 files in 6 file drawers. But, it is not too early to mention the next project. There is currently a file drawer filled with pictures of Right Angle #303 Past Masters. No one can enjoy them there. My idea is to remove them from the frames, dispose of the frames, give or throw them away, and put the pictures in an album of some type and put them on a shelf in the library for all to enjoy if desired.
We are still dark for the month of August. We will be having our Royal Arch Festival in September in Plattsmouth. If you are interested in taking part in the ritual please contact AJ Johnson at 232-5306 or tjark@cox.net. Those who wish to join may get paperwork from the lodge secretary's office. "All Christian Masons should be Knights Templar", the RA Chapter is a prerequisite for that, but as the Chapter is the completion of the Blue Lodge degrees it is open to all that believe in a Supreme Deity.

Dear Sisters and Brothers,
A great big thank you to all who were able to attend the Metro Area visitations this year and support Brother Dale and I as we responded for the Worthy Matrons and Patrons. We hope you will be able to join us in November when it is our turn to entertain this fun group, I promise good food and good fellowship.
I am pleased to announce that the hot dog stand was a great success again this year, thanks to the help of all the members who donated items, worked in the tent, or just stopped by to eat.
