Sir Knights, I hope you are all surviving our lovely Nebraska weather. For this month’s article I’d like to bring everyone up to date on the activities of the Omaha Area York Rite Unity group (and its last meeting held after the 18 March YR Council meeting). I believe most of you are aware of the group, but if not, it was formed to enhance communication and unity among the York Rite bodies in the greater Omaha area.

Crusade Chapter

The boys, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to not go to Round Up this year in Kearney and focus instead on the Shrine Bowl, parade, game and dance in Lincoln in June and Conclave in July in Grand Island. They are working on bringing in one new member and two of our advisors are working on bringing in one each, if successful, any future members would receive an 8-man initiatory (all the work with each boy except the Sr Deacon doing two parts) as opposed to the short form currently being performed.

Words from the East

Ladies and Brethren,

Thank you! Thanks to everyone for your help and support.

I really enjoyed the installation on January 2. Everyone pulled together to help. It was very encouraging to know that our whole family is there with the success of the program at heart.

Crusade Chapter

The Chapter hasn't been meeting because of the weather, but the boys were here for the Lodge installation and again, to meet downstairs to plan the term. Look for a fund raiser and other projects. The new Sweetheart should be elected and installed early in February, and there should be a new boy added to the rooster by the end of the month as well.

Sir Knights,

Florence Chapter #61

Members of Florence Chapter have been participating in the presentations of certificates of congratulations from the four York Rite bodies to the in-coming Masters of the various local lodges. They were very well received and I expect the project to be continued in future years. This was the brain child of Metro York Rite which is composed of the top two officers from each of the four bodies; they met quarterly, in Bellevue, after the Council of Cryptic Masons.
Remember, elections are in March, Grand York Rite in April, and installation is in May.
