Ladies and Brethren,
Worshipful Brother Wes Turtscher wins Grand Master’s Humanitarian award!

From the Secretary

Another month is in the books and our suspension list is far too big, looks like the worst in several years. 9 still on the list, with only three left that might pay before suspension, then two active Shrine/Scottish Rite that will pay after suspension claiming no contact...sorry guys, we recorded each letter, phone call, email, face book and text.

With that out of the way, I will be reducing my hours, Mon, Wed, Fri I'll be here for the morning, Tue, Thurs, Sat I'll stop by to pick up the mail and handle any urgent business.

Carl Highman, PM

Florence Chapter #61

As of May 1st, Dennis Newman will be the High Priest and I will be a four times has been of the position. Each time has been memorable for one reason or another. The first at Galena Park #490 RAM in 1991-1992 had me split four ways; I was also the Thrice Illustrious Master of Galena Park #405 R&SM, President of the Arabia Temple Shrine Band and President of the Houston Freight Agents' Association. The second, also at #490, in 1993-1994 had my son Ken as Thrice Illustrious Master.

Crusade Chapter

The boys are very busy, but there are still only 4 to 6 at each meeting or outing. The 1 st Wednesday is the formal meeting. The 2nd is fun night since the RAM is in the lodge room, normally it is under the guidance of Mom Brenda Coleman or, if they go off-sight, Dad Paul Kenyon. The 3rd is an informal meeting, which usually leans toward ritual practice. The 4 th is trestle board folding time, with refreshments to follow.

Words from the East

Ladies and Brethren,

I am a proud Master! Tuesday night was our time to shine as hosts of the Grand Lodge Fellowcraft School of Instruction, and Brethren, you did not disappoint! We had 17 Papillion Lodge members there, from a brand new Fellowcraft to the Most Worshipful Grand Master. We hosted over 70 visiting brethren.

Attention Members of Papillion Chapter #114, Order of the Eastern Star

Papillion Chapter #114, Order of the Eastern Star will hold a Special Election at their next Stated Meeting on Thursday, April 13 to elect a member to the office of Conductress. All members are strongly urged to attend this meeting and cast your vote. The continuity of the Chapter leadership depends on your participation.

From the Secretary

With the RAM election, I am now Secretary/Recorder for Papillion Lodge #39, AF&AM, Florence Chapter #61, RAM, Omaha Council #1, CM, Mt. Commandery #1, KT and York Rite Omaha. While it sounds like 5 jobs, they are multiple aspects of the same job, normally done by 5 people. The York Rite reports all go in at the same time to the same person and don't need to be duplicated. Dues collection is done by YRO and is not part of the Secretary/Recorder of individual bodies. Notification of change of address between this Lodge and the York Rite is greatly simplified as are deaths and suspensions.
